Just thinking...

I am just wondering what other people think about and want to know more about. Do you want to know more about the bible, your spouse or just life ??

In class each week at church we are reminded that we don't know everything about our spouse and we never will. I personally think I know everything about my spouse. Now, I may forget from time to time what he likes eat but pretty much I know him.

I always think about when Jesus' is coming back. Some say that is healthy, some say its not. Sometimes I am afraid to sleep at night because I don't want him to come back, not yet anyways (which is selfish of me,I know). As a child I always imagined him coming in the middle of the night when everyone is sleeping. Of course I know that no one is sleeping all at the same time! But, when I was smaller I did think that. I have a wild imagination. I am a very visual person. If you say something to me, I am most likely picturing what I think that thing looks like or is or how it was. So when I read the Bible and about Jesus' return I get very visual and I guess I want to see for myself actually what it is like. I know...I am CRAZY! Really though am I the only one that does that?? Come on be HONEST!

So tell me what are your "crazy" things you do?? I want to get to know you :)

The Lord's Supper

At church last Sunday I had the privilege to be in the nursery during the service. In the nursery there is a big flat screen TV in there so the workers can watch and listen to the service. Well I noticed that Communion wasn't the way we do it most times. There wasn't a prayer before the bread (body) and the juice (blood). It was all done at the end and during this time you were to talk to the person next to you and serve them( some very confused, and then not in the right frame of mind to even take Communion!). Now, I know Matthew 26:17-30 gives the example of how Jesus' wanted this done each Lord's day. Why does the man that "conducts" the communion for that day think he can change it up and do it the way he wants and never mind how Jesus' wanted it done. Conducting the Lord's Supper is not a chance to prove a point or show the way you want things. It is a time to reflect and focus on him. It is hard enough to pray and focus with the worship team singing and now you are just going to, not pray until the end and then make sure we get in the giving part. I am still a firm believer in sticking to what the Bible says and the examples it gives. Now, some people will say the Bible isn't clear on most things but I will tell you it is very clear about the Lord's Supper and I say we stick to that! I'm just say'n!!

MEN?!

So I know this a touchy subject. Most guys/men don't even want to hear or read what I am about to say but....I really don't care. I guess I am also wondering if I am alone in thinking all this and having it happen to me in mt life?????

I just don't understand why men have to be like they are! Why cant you open up and tell us what you are thinking and feeling? Show us a side that you don't show other people. Be that loving and gentle person. Dare I say, be a "little gay" and just be "more" than what you give everyone else out in the real world.

Why is it that when the man does something so hurtful to a woman, we are not allowed to bring it up again to TRY to talk it out and TRY to get past it,but we cant get past it because you either 1. keep doing that thing over and over OR 2. You wont talk about IT so we have to keep bringing it up to have hope that one day you just may have a break through and actually talk. BUT heaven forbid the woman do the "wrong" thing. I bet that man would leave so fast, they say they wont only because they have no idea what it feels like to be...

What happened to the guy that opens the ladies doors and treats her like she is #1(now for you that are going to say God should be number one.... blah blah, I get it I am talking about here on earth). I watch older couples at church and I long for that type of relationship.Walking hand and hand with no worries. There is a couple that sits in front of us at church and I love just watching how they interact with each other. They are so sweet. He even hands her the communion trays first then he gets his.He respects her so much! This man is so thoughtful and you always know who he is thinking about. She is one lucky lady!

Now,I don't mean to step on any one's toes writing this, I just simply want to know where men are coming from these days. Please men give me your in-put I would love to read it!

I'm just say'n guys, lets step up your game!

Sorry Mark, you asked for a new post....I am sure not this kind though.

Comments?

First of all thank you to everyone that have posted comments. I appreciate everyone's unique view-point.

Now, I have looked at blogs as more of a round-table type discussion by people who are interested in the topic being discussed. If it doesn't interest you then you move along. That is what I love about the comments. I get to hear what other people actually think. People that don't have comments on their blogs make me wonder. Are you afraid of what you might hear from people that actually care enough to spend time and write? Are you "looking out" for the other readers by stopping any possibility of fights?

If you are afraid of what people will say, then don't post anything controversial. Post puppies and kittens playing together nicely.

If you are afraid of conflict from your readers, well, moderate the comments. If you have two adults with differing view points, they should be able to work it out on their own. You don't have to protect them. People should be able to formulae arguments and they will only get better at it with practice.

I cannot fathom why you wouldn't have comments so enlighten me. I'm just sayin'.

We be Jamm'n.... or should we??

It is time for a new subject. I am still not so sure about all the other topics but whatever. LOL!

The subject is, Music in the church?? My friend and I have gone around in circles about this subject a few years back but I respect the opinion of some of you, so what are your thoughts? Should there be a band playing at church or even a piano?

I personally think that just using your voice is the best way to go but there are some Churches of Christ now that have started having bands playing at their #2 service. Which that is another thing...its sad that churches have to have 2 different services. One for the old people and one for the younger crowd.

So let me have it, should we be jamm'n in church?

I will leave you with this, Psalms 27 (one of the many), for those that believe we should look at scripture to find our answers....I'm just say'n :)

Enough already!

They say its not a racial thing but why is it every time I turn the radio on or TV on I hear Martin Luther King giving his "I have a dream speech"? On the way to the grocery store I am flipping the radio channels and I hear this rap song come on and say, "We need a black President". So you say its not a racial thing.... are you sure ?? On The View today, Sherry is crying because now she can tell her son (which is black,by the way) that you can do it just like Obama, now there is nothing standing in your way. If it wasn't a racial thing then why would she say that to her child. Her son could be who he wants to be no matter the color of his skin. Now read what Whoppi said. She said, "Now pull your pants up,and act right". Whoppi can say that but if the white girl on the panel said it, she would have been torn a part by the media and her co-workers. I just pray that the "whole world" wasn't celebrating last night because Obama made deals with all those countries. It is very weird the way all those people around the world were celebrating. He will not be their President,he is going to be the US President, right....Did they show all that around the World when any other President's was elected?? I don't think so. It makes me wonder....

...In Jesus Name, Amen.

Thanks for the myriad of responses to the last post. NEW TOPIC!

So, the kids were told by Grandmama that if you don't end your prayer with the verbiage, "in Jesus name, Amen" it doesn't get heard by God. Really? What about the "un-churched"? God doesn't hear their prayers? I'm just sayin'... your thoughts?
